Grahame Booth has been teaching plein air and studio watercolour classes and workshops for over 35 years. In that time he has worked all over the world with some of the best known painting holiday companies. In addition to the live classes he now has a successful online teaching platform. His YouTube watercolour channel has over 40000 subscribers.

Róisín Curé

Róisín Curé grew up in the Wicklow Mountains and moved to Galway in the early 90s to start a science degree, but the lure of the West proved irresistible and she lives there to this day with her family.

A keen urban sketcher since 2012, she published An Urban Sketcher's Galway in 2019, and The Urban Sketcher's Handbook: Drawing Expressive People in 2020, seventh in the very popular series. An Urban Sketcher's Dublin was due for release in 2020 but will be delayed due to the pandemic.

Róisín is Ireland's only official Urban Sketching Instructor with the global urban sketching organisation, and taught in the USk Symposia in Porto (2018) and Amsetrdam (2019).

As well as writing and illustrating books, Róisín currently teaches on- and offline, with workshops and classes at home and across the world.

Nina Patterson

Catering for all levels, with all materials supplied for all disciplines. Students can work in watercolour, oil, acrylic, pastel/charcoal or diversify as they wish. Nina’s in-person & on-line art classes are practical, informative and are tailored to meet individual goals and abilities. Students can focus on their own work or follow Nina through a painting from start to finish. No projects are repeated so students can attend each term knowing there will always be fresh ideas and inspiration.


Courses are held at the Geraldine Hall in Maynooth Co. Kildare, with On - Line courses being delivered online via Zoom. Courses run for 4 – 6 weeks throughout the year from September to June.

 

Workshops (indoor) take place monthly on Saturday afternoons. During the Summer En Plein Air workshops take place on location on Saturdays.

Yanny Petters

Yanny Petters gives tuition in watercolour technique at the Schoolhouse for Art in Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow on a regular basis. https://www.schoolhouseforart.com

Yanny gives demonstrations and workshops to art groups in exploring watercolours, or botanical illustration. Beginners are always welcome.

John Short

John Short was formerly Senior Lecturer in Drawing and Imagemaking in The School of Art & Design, TUDublin. He continues to run 2 workshops annually in Artform School of Art, Dunmore East in County Waterford.  Sketchbook drawing and experimental approaches with watercolour media are the basis to his practice.  He is represented by Solomon Fine Art Gallery, Dublin.

Sue van Coppenhagen

Sue runs weekly watercolour classes, suitable for all levels, from her studio in Ladysbridge or online. The online classes are supported by supplementary Youtube material, exclusive to the classes. These run from October to May each year. Please contact Sue for further details.
